If you aren’t rapping at semi strangers in your seventies I’m gonna be pissed. It’s your destiny now.

I thought teaching at Arvon was a full circle moment - but now, you knowing Emma makes another circle - looping in Ignite! Lovely to see you :)

Hey Bec! Yes, I don't know where I came across this newsletter (maybe it was you?!) but I've always enjoyed it. I hope you are well!! Sending love.

I'm great! I'm going back to freelancing and designing some 'career experiments', inspired by Emma, and starting to think about the next business I might want to build (big question marks there though!). I'll let you know if I'm up north soon, and you must let me know if you're in London!

This is such a beautiful post Emma - thank you for sharing your experience. Am blushing at your kind words. Watching your journey from "a humble blogger struggling to write a book" to "leaving as a proud writer with a way forward." means everything. I cannot wait to see where your writing takes you next.

I bloody loved this. I’ve been “considering” a writing retreat for the past 2 years now, and think I actually need to bite the bullet and just bloody do it. So happy for you too, can’t wait to see what you write next and read it!

Mate, do it! I actually booked one in Covid which got cancelled and it's taken me this long to pluck the courage back up to book another. Arvon do a bunch and they have a location in Hebden Bridge I think which could be good for you.

I love this story Emma. It’s inspired me to seriously consider a retreat as well. Also I really like your point about splitting out sections of your writing - are you doing this as 3 different publications people sign up to? As I’ve been thinking about how to create a distinction between my digital, sustainability and life writings.

So this is the though process I went through last week. I've decided to keep it as 'sections' of the same publication. People can go in and unsubscribe to sections if they want and when new people sign up they are given the option of what to subscribe to - I think thats how it works anyway. I was going to start a whole new one but Emma Gannon talked me out of it! Haha.

It's interesting do you feel you have to theme the publications or you can write about the area you're into and people can take it or leave it that its from the same creative mind and you don't have to carve yourself into categories?

I have categorised mine because it’s part of my ‘going paid’ strategy. I’ve been mainly writing about running my business for 2.5 years so that’s the content I’m going to put behind the paywall as I believe my main audience is other business owners/freelancers who could pay as a business expense. The ‘life’ stuff is more me experimenting at this stage and I’m happy to give that away for free.
